Commenting
on their purchase of the Gold Sox, Tom Lininger said, “Karyn and I love baseball, and so do
our boys. The game is a big part of our lives, as it is with so many Gold
Sox fans.”
Tom
continued, “We feel fortunate to have been chosen by the Bavasis to succeed
them in owning the Gold Sox. We are very pleased that Bob will remain with
us as an invested partner and our chief guide to the baseball business.
And we are delighted that Peter will stay on as our transition advisor.”
“We
share the same beliefs that Bob and Peter hold,” Tom added. “We
believe the Gold Sox belong to the Yuba-Sutter community, and that we are just
caretakers of this wonderful civic asset.”
Commenting
on the sale of the Gold Sox to Tom and Karyn Lininger,
Bob Bavasi, who will remain invested in the Gold Sox as an operating partner,
said, “When we announced our Gold Sox ownership succession plan five months
ago, we said we would seek ‘Someone who shares our vision for the Gold Sox and
our baseball values…someone who believes, as we do, that the Gold Sox are an
important civic asset belonging to the community…and someone who is committed
to the high standards and family values of the Yuba-Sutter community’.”
Bob
concluded, “We found all of those attributes and many more in Tom and Karyn
Lininger.” |
